Turning inward, wrapping up. Winter. Slowing down for change, what is to come.
One month from today Max and I will be flying toward Minnesota for longer than usual. Predictably, the 6’4” now fifteen year old with a Kiwi accent fell in love with the American high school experience on international exchange in 2024. So. We are heading back so he can finish high school, play soccer instead of football, and launch off to university in the US of A.
Preparing. Packed up the last of Aaron's wardrobe alongside my wedding dress(es) for Ho Spice, cleaning out Max's bedroom, mid-building our retreat at the end of the earth, starting a new business, closing the old business, preparing for two years of commuting between homes in MSP and AKL, fantasizing of conjugal visits with Karl in HNL. Cramming in hot date nights, teen birthdays, walking my poor old dog. Moving studio for the fifth time in seven years.
Moving the damn drum kit for the fifth time in seven years since Aaron died.
It's a lot. Grieving, worried, excited. Preparing to straddle the earth mentally and physically.
Oh, the things we do for love.
Welcome back to Give it Heaps.
